The Gambia National Remittance Stakeholder Network (NRSN) was set up in 2020 in response to the challenges brought by the global pandemic. The Network started with the objective to connect key remittance stakeholders, including the public, private sectors and the civil society to share information, challenges, opportunities and good practices to make remittances accessible, safer, affordable and to count more. This community has also developed a road map of potential actions for the improvement of the remittance market.
Through regular online and in-presence meetings, The Gambia NRSN has become a well-established and well-recognized reference point across the remittance practitioners in the country.
In 2022, The Gambia NRSN Community of Practice (CoP) was created to provide Gambian stakeholders with an interactive space to connect and exchange ideas with peers related to the remittance ecosystem in the country. The goal of the CoP is to spur the identification of favorable market opportunities and joint initiatives, as well as to encourage partnerships among CoP members.
