According to the executive director of operations Bank of Uganda, Dr Charles Abuka, the use of cash is unlikely to go away anytime soon though it will reduce. “The use of cash in the economy is likely to reduce with time but it will not disappear completely. In the advanced economies, 80 percent use digital means, and 20 percent in developing and least developing countries,” he said.
